The Valencia Cup Girls 2025 will feature a combination of players from clubs affected by DANA
The organization of the international women's youth soccer tournament will promote a team for the under-19 category with players who will represent the aforementioned entities or the municipalities themselves for the fifth edition of the championship, which will be held between April 17 and 20 in the city of Turia.
The Valencia Cup Girls organisation will promote a combined team, under the name of Arrels (roots in Valencian), of players representing clubs belonging to towns affected by Dana, or who live in the municipalities themselves, from last October 2024 in the province of Valencia. This team will compete in the under-19 category of the international women's grassroots football tournament, which is in its fifth edition, and which will take place between the 17th and 20th of April in Valencia.
Asociación Sportea, organiser of the Valencia Cup Girls, will fully invite the players of this 'selection' so that they can enjoy their sport at no cost, with a technical and material team at their disposal, being able to represent, in cases where possible, the clubs especially affected by the climatic tragedy suffered.
This team will be part of the opening ceremony of the Valencia Cup Girls 2025, which will be on April 17 at the Luis Puig Velodrome, and then from the 18th they will enter the competition in the age groups between 17 and 19 years old. Although the organization can contact the clubs directly, they can contact them to request information so that their players can participate (the number per team will depend on the total number of twenty-two players) through the email: manuelabotero@witscompany.com
In addition, some of them will be able to participate on this occasion in the Legends and Referents match, which is part of the tournament every year, and which has the direct support of Teika. This match, which will be played on the afternoon of Saturday, April 19, will also have a tribute to the victims of the DANA, hoping that the public will attend this special meeting.
As in previous editions, there will be various categories by age segment: the G12 category of F8 (born after 01-01-2013), and the F11 categories between G14 (born after 01-01-2011), G16 (born after 01-01-2009), G19 (born after 01/01/2006) and G (free age). In addition, one of the key events in the tournament program will be the exhibition match of the Referents or Legends, which as an All-Star, as in previous editions with the support of Teika, will bring together footballers who were pioneers and referents at different stages for the development and brilliance of women's football.
The Valencia Cup Girls, organised by the Sportea Association with the support of the Valencia City Council, the Valencia Provincial Council and the Comunitat de l’Esport of the Department of Sport of the Generalitat Valenciana, is a sporting and social event that works for the visibility of women's sport within the framework of football, which includes fundamental values such as camaraderie, fair play, training, healthy competition and personal experiences.
