The Valencia Cup Girls 2025 kicks off with a day packed with 36 matches

Football, football, and more football. The Valencia Cup Girls 2025 kicked off with a first day featuring up to 36 matches in morning and afternoon sessions. The seven hundred players who make up the 38 registered teams displayed their essence of football on the fields of Pont de Fusta, Serranos, Punte de la Exposición, Tramo II, and Doctor Lluch in the city of Turia. Saturday will see another equal number of matches in search of a spot in the finals.
The U-19 category, with eight teams competing and divided into two groups, ended Good Friday with the Norwegians from NSU leading Group 1 with six points and a perfect record of wins, followed by Mislata (A) with three. In Table 2, Arrels, a team of players from clubs and/or towns affected by COVID-19, took the lead, beating the English team from Steven Gerrard and UE L'Alcudia to take a full six points, while the team from Ribera Alta and Mislata followed with three.
The U-16 category, also with eight teams and two groups, features Table 1 with CFF Marítim and the Irish team from Kildare & District UL in joint first place with six points; while in Table 2, UE L'Alcudia leads with two wins, while the Nordic team from NSU and CD Malilla are level with one victory.
Rounding out the F11 categories with the U-14s, the Americans from Rush Select 10 and CF Cracks are joint leaders with four points, and the British team from Kildare is third with two. In Table 2, Burriana FB and NSU of Norway are also tied at the top of the table with four points, while L'Alcudia is third with three points.
The youngest division in the tournament, the U12s, competing in the F8 division, is the largest with a total of twelve teams, divided into three groups. In Table 1, English side Heswall Juniors - Hornets are in first place with six points, while Mislata CF is second with four. In Table 2, the top three positions are tight: NSU and Valencia CF are joint leaders with four points, while Sagunto FB is three. In Table 3, UD Paterna leads with six points, while Tavernes Blanques CF and Atlético Vallbonense are tied with three points in second and third place, respectively.
This Saturday will see another marathon matchday. In the morning session, the group stage will be settled with the third and final matches, which will finalize the knockout stages of both Phases A and B, which will take place in a high-level afternoon match. In total, 36 more matches will take place this Saturday.
But there will be one more, of essential significance and importance. The Referentes by Teika match reaches its fourth edition within the Valencia Cup Girls with the exhibition duel of pioneering players and icons from various generations, who will face each other at 6:30 p.m. at the Serranos stadium. This is one of those duels featuring quality football and history that no one should miss. In addition to this match, the Referentes dinner will honor key figures in the history of Valencian women's football, from the technical and management levels, such as Antonio Descalzo and Pedro Malabia, and in memory of Dolores Escamilla, Paco Polit, and Pepe Ibáñez.
