The international women's grassroots soccer tournament, which will be held between March 28 and 31 in the city of Turia, adds a team from South Asia to the list of entities from Europe and North America
Seven countries from three continents will be represented by the 40 teams that will be part of the list of participants in the fourth edition of the València Cup Girls. The Bangladesh School Sports Association, from South Asia, formalized its registration in the international women's grassroots soccer tournament along with teams from the United States and Canada in North America, and from Norway, Austria, Italy and, logically, Spain in Europe.
So the city of Turia, next Holy Week, between March 28 and 31, will be the epicenter of women's football in training categories in a competition that is supported by several pillars on which the Sportea Association, organizer of the same, is betting. : sports, tourism, international and experiential.
The Valencia Cup Girls was a decided bet in 2021 in a period still marked by the coronavirus pandemic, with a first edition being held with 16 teams from the Valencian Community. A year later, still in a time of waves and variants of Covid-19 and subject to the established health limits, that number has already increased and some teams from the rest of Spain arrived, there was even the first foreign participation from Finland. In 2023, the third edition of the tournament and the first without restrictions, the tournament took a leap in its numbers, bordering on the forty-group line and with the presence of the Norwegian Norsk Spiller.
This 2024 will be the fourth edition and the international barrier is clearly broken, one of the objectives of the organization for the present and future. The numbers are clear: seven countries from three continents and 40 squads will enter the fray. The Rush Select Girls (United States) will compete in Valencia with two teams; Canada's Venus FC; the Asians from the Bangladesh School Sports Association (Bangladesh); Heming FK and Lyndamer FK from Norway; Austria's First Vienna; and the BS Soccer Team Fasano of Italy from outside the Spanish borders.
In addition, clubs from Navarra such as UD Mutilvera, which also participates with five teams, and TEC Academy from Barcelona, with two, will compete in the city of Turia in the IV Valencia Cup Girls.
The Valencian Community will be represented with Levante UD, which defends the overall title of the tournament, having been the absolute champion in the three previous editions, Valencia CF, Atlético Vallbonense, CD Serranos (host of one of the playing fields of the tournament ), the CFF Ciutat de Mislata, the CFF Marítim (in whose facility matches will also be played), the CFF Torrent L'Horta Sud, the Mislata CF, the UD Paterna or the UE L'Alcudia.
